Appropriate Adult

This service is for professionals or families who can not attend to support a vulnerable person who has come into contact with the criminal justice system such as the police. Vulnerable person refers to children, young people and anyone who can not fully understand proceeding due to factors such as mental health and other conditions.

Community Care Support is able to provide a responsible person (appropriate adult) to support you during interviews. The role of the appropriate adult is not to give advice. This is the role of a solicitor. Our role will be to safeguard your rights and welfare. This will involve ensuring you are treated fairly and fully understand proceedings.
